Covid-19

Covid-19

Here you’ll find out about what we are doing to make our classes and events safe in the coronavirus pandemic and what you need to know or do before you attend anything with us. We’ll ask you to read this page when you first sign-up so that you can do your bit to reduce the risks of Covid-19 to yourself and others. If you have any queries, please get in touch with us using the details on our contact page.

Safe dance spaces

We follow government guidance  for teaching adults and children and exercising in indoor spaces. We also follow additional instructions and advice from the Royal Academy of Dance. All of this means that some of our classes and events have to run a little differently. Some of the changes might include:

    • Reduced class sizes to allow people to keep a safe distance from one another
    • Shorter class duration
    • Pre-booking classes to help manage class numbers
    • Offering online payments as an alternative to taking cash on the day
    • Additional cleaning of surfaces in between classes
    • We don’t use shared equipment or props, dancers need to bring their own

We make sure that the venues we teach classes or hold events in, are Covid-19 secure and that the required risk assessments have been carried out. You must follow the safety measures in place at any class or event to minimise the risks of covid-19. You’ll get specific information about the venue you go to for your class or event but this might include:

    • Using separate entrances and exits
    • Following one-way systems around the building
    • Keeping within floor markings to help you maintain the appropriate distance whilst dancing
    • Using hand sanitisers provided
    • Frequent cleaning of equipment and regularly touched surfaces, such as barres
    • Maintaining good ventilation by opening doors

Some of the venues may require you to wear face coverings whilst in public areas of the building but we’ll let you know where that applies.

We will not be able follow social distancing rules where first aid is required but we will use Personal Protective Equipment wherever possible.

Symptoms of Covid-19

You must not attend any classes or events with Complete Ballet if you are feeling at all unwell or are experiencing any symptoms of Covid-19. These are currently:

    • temperature
    • A new continuous cough
    • loss of, or change in, your normal sense of smell or taste

You must stay at home and self-isolate in line with government guidance.

If you become unwell during a class or event, you must tell the teacher and go home immediately. Keep a safe distance from others and wear a face covering if necessary. We will not be able to refund fees for classes or events not attended where the required notice isn’t given, this includes situations where non-attendance is due to Covid-19. You can read more about refunds on our policies page.
