EVENTS

We offer our dancers more than a ballet class and create unique opportunities to see, experience and learn about ballet in different ways. Our special events are usually aimed at specific age groups or classes and they run at different times throughout the year. You can take a look at the kind of events we offer on this page -think of it as a bit of a menu. If you want to be the first to hear about the next event, make sure you subscribe to our newsletter for all the details!

Swans and Cygnets

In these unique sessions, adults and older dancers can bring along a grandchild or child (or even borrow niece or nephew) and share a ballet lesson with them. This fun class is made up of carefully selected ballet exercises and routines to cater for all abilities and ages so that different generations can enjoy a memorable class dancing together.

Ballet lessons on stage

For a special change of scenery, our dancers can enjoy their ballet class on stage in a local theatre or venue -no spectators, just us. These enjoyable classes help develop better spatial awareness and performance qualities which dancers can then bring back to their regular class, but they’re also just great fun! Open to dancers from our Complete Ballet classes.

Ballet to live music

We arrange for professional pianists to play the music for our specially arranged ballet lessons. Dancing to beautiful, live music develops artistry and musicality and is a wonderful, uplifting experience not to be missed! Make sure you subscribe to receive details of our next event.

Muscle release workshop with Body Reflexions

The muscles work so hard in ballet, they need to relax too every once in a while. These sessions led by expert pilates and body coach Hilary Graham, teach dancers how to safely and properly release tense muscles to improve movement and realign the body. Plus relaxing feels really great!

off to the ballet

Off to the ballet

These organised trips offer dancers the chance to see ballet productions live at the theatre or streamed to the cinema. Special events also enable our dancers to go behind-the-scenes and watch professionals take their daily ballet class on stage. These are inspirational and enjoyable opportunities to socialise with your fellow dancers and get some more ballet for your soul!

Understanding your ballet body with Physiotherapy Ltd

These sessions, led by expert physiotherapists, help younger and adolescent dancers learn more about the anatomy involved in ballet posture and movements, giving them greater awareness of their bodies and injury prevention.

Showtime

A chance for dancers of any age from our classes to shine, as they perform on stage in front of an audience. The show is made up of well-rehearsed group and solo performances of popular and specially choreographed ballet dances, giving dancers (and spectators) a truly memorable and uplifting experience.

Christmas ballet class

These are fun classes with Christmas music to accompany your ballet steps and festive treats and drinks to follow the lesson. A wonderful chance to socialise with the other dancers in your class.

Looking after your ballet body with Physiotherapy Ltd

Aimed at adults and older dancers, these sessions, led by physiotherapists, help to teach older dancers about how ageing affects the muscles and joints and how to look after them in ballet class for lifelong wellbeing…and dancing. As sessions have not been possible during the pandemic, we have created a video with Physiotherapy Ltd, which is available to purchase below.

If the class you want isn’t there, please get in touch or subscribe to Complete Ballet to be the first to hear about our latest classes and events.
