Character dance is seen in famous ballets like Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty and Giselle where stories are told through traditional and folk dance. Character work is part of the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus and it reflects traditional steps and music from countries such as Poland, Russia, Hungary and the Ukraine. It teaches musicality, rhythm and mime and specific classes are offered for children to compliment their existing RAD classes and also for adults to learn and enjoy.
